The Power of Landing Pages
Reading Time: 2 minutes
An essential part of any marketing campaign includes at least one landing page. However, there may be some website owners that feel that landing pages are a waste of time and money. This is simply not true. Landing pages are invaluable to your marketing campaign. Let’s look closer at what landing pages are and what they can do for your business.
What are landing pages?
Put very simply a landing page is a page you “land” on when you click on a link. Now, this link could be from a Google Ad, a Facebook post, or a Facebook Ad. A landing page is separate from your full website. It should not show in the menu of your website. Viewers should only be able to see this page if they have the direct link to that page.
When setting up your landing page, try to make sure you have certain elements to your page. You should have a headline, copy that includes your keywords, social sharing links or buttons, make sure your navigation is hidden, an image, and your lead capture or conversion form. To leave the page, the viewer must use whatever call to action you have set for the page, such as signing up for a newsletter or filling out a contact us form.
What do landing pages do for your business?
Landing pages have many versatile uses. The main purpose for a landing page is to highlight a specific product or service. You want to get the viewer to complete a specific call to action. You can use a landing page to offer a sale or a limited time offer. A landing page is an excellent way to build your email database by having your viewer include their email address when they do your call to action. Keep your landing page effective by keeping it short, sweet and to the point.
By having a landing page you can track how your potential leads are coming to your landing page. You are able to see if they are from one of the ads you placed, which ad it was, or if they are coming from a social media post. This way you are able to see what part of your advertising is working and what isn’t.
Landing pages are one of the most underutilized tools in marketing. It is a simple and effective way to build up your leads database and to generate possible new revenue. Next week we will go over onsite SEO and things you can do to boost your online rankings.
