A few weeks ago, we showed you how to change the author of a blog post. This is great if you only need to change one or two posts, but what if you need to edit several? Manually going into several posts is seriously time-consuming. And if there’s one thing more precious than gold, it’s time! Well, you’re in luck, because WordPress allows you to bulk edit the author of blog posts! {Insert Cheers here!}

Follow along step-by-step and add some time back to your day!

 

WordPress Wednesday Tip 20: How To Bulk Edit the Author of Blog Posts

 

1. From your dashboard, hover over ‘Posts’ and click on ‘All Posts’.

You will now see a list of your posts. Note that unless you previously selected the author of the post to display, you won’t be able to see this.

2. Click on the ‘Screen Options’ on the upper, right-hand corner of the screen to open the different viewing options for your list of posts.

3. Click on the ‘Author’ box. You will now see the author of all of your blog posts. {Bonus: We also find it best to select the total number of posts you have in the ‘Pagination’ section, so you can edit the author of blog posts all at once rather than on different pages of your post list.}

4. Scroll through your list of posts and check the box next to the ones that need the author changed.

5. Scroll back to the top of your blog list and select ‘Edit’ from the drop down box.

6. The section will expand and you will now be able to edit your author. To do this, click on the ‘Author’ drop down and select the name of the author you want to credit for the post. When finished, click ‘Update’.

7.  Note that the name of the author has changed.
