WordPress Wednesday Tip 33: How to Change the Default Timezone in WordPress

If you’ve been working with WordPress, you might have noticed that when you post a blog, published a page, respond to a comment, or view a form entry, the time is displayed. WordPress defaults to Universal Time Coordinated, or UTC.
But what if the default time isn’t correct for your timezone? Are you doomed to have the incorrect time displayed in your comments and posts?
Nope! WordPress allows you to easily change the default timezone. And in this week’s WordPress Wednesday, we’re going to show you how.

WordPress Wednesday Tip 33: How to Change the Default Timezone in WordPress
1. From your Dashboard, hover over the ‘Settings’ tab.
2. Click on ‘General’ link.
3. Scroll to the ‘Timezone’ section. You’ll see that the default is set to UTC.
4. Select a city in the same timezone as you or choose the appropriate UTC ‘Manual Offset’.
5. Click the Save Changes button.
That’s all there is to change the default timezone in WordPress. Wasn’t that easy?
